Our Residential Care at the Glen supports older people who are finding it increasingly difficult to look after themselves at home. It also supports older people who are increasingly alone and would enjoy some company.
The Glen offers residents a friendly and caring community where kindness, compassion, knowledge, skill and confidence combine to offer respectful and dignified care that recognises the individual needs, wishes and preferences of each resident.
Quality person centred care is at the heart of all that we do, and this is enhanced by our daily wellbeing programme which is designed to address the hobbies and preferences of the residents including a programme of physical activity.
We recognise the resident as a valuable member of the community and encourage residents to continue to engage in activities within the community, to attend local groups and attend local events. In addition, we invite external community groups to develop positive relationships with the Glen and the residents within the home.
The Glen has been carefully designed to provide residents with a comfortable and homely environment. There are choices of seating areas and facilities throughout providing residents with a variety of social areas to enjoy. Residents may choose to relax in the lounge, socialise with friends in the bar, attend the hair dressing salon or dine with family and friends in the cafe.
Resident bedrooms are well appointed with comfortable furnishings and ensuite facilities. Residents are encouraged to add personal touches to make the room their own. Private telephone facilities and wi-fi services are available for resident use.
Access to the enclosed dementia garden with their safe walkways and attractive design is available to all. Seated areas are strategically placed throughout the garden to provide residents with restful areas in which to enjoy a range of sensory experiences.
Our residential care and facilities provided at the Glen help residents with the ability to address not only their needs but also their preferences in comfortable, dignified surroundings with care and support available when and if required.
