To support our person centred care approach, upon admission a ‘Resident Life History’ record is also created. From past experience we know this is a great way for everyone to get to know new residents better as it not only allows the individual and their family and friends to reminisce and remember memories but also provides staff with a better understanding of the resident’s care needs from a wider perspective.
Where possible, we always try to complete life histories with the help of family and friends within the first week of admission.
