The Glen Nursing Home is a home that specialises in providing high quality care and support to individuals requiring nursing and residential care. The facilities within the home have been designed to provide all residents with ‘something out of the ordinary’, as well as taking specific care to provide facilities to support residents with dementia to help maintain their independence and personal wellbeing. Facilities include reminiscence pods, an old fashioned corner shop, sensory room, scenic gallery walk ways, pub style bar, cinema room, hairdressing salon, an integrated therapeutic music system throughout the home and an accessible garden and patio area for all to enjoy.

Lounges
Each lounge overlooks the gardens of the home and has been designed with a comfortable, traditional and relaxing feel in mind. The lounges provide residents with a spacious, light and airy room to enjoy whilst maintaining some home comforts. A traditional fire surround and heat free fire with large plasma TVs set above allows residents to relax and watch their favourite programmes, soaps or sports. Residents can enjoy spending time with family and friends, interact with other residents or get involved with the daily activities within the lounge areas. Each lounge also provides residents with an interactive reminiscence feature such as the old fashioned corner shop front or pub style bar. Call bell assistance is also available.
Dining Rooms
Directly accessed from each lounge the dining rooms provide residents with a homely and friendly environment to enjoy meals together with appropriate furniture to suit all resident’s needs.
Kitchen style facilities allow residents to support and assist staff at meal times which many residents find therapeutic in maintaining their independence, whilst the 1950’s style reminiscence kitchen pods also allow residents the opportunity to reminisce on their past family mealtimes.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms are single rooms with en-suite facilities. They are fully equipped with a state of the art profiling bed and high quality bedroom furniture including a wardrobe, chest of drawers and lockable bed side cabinets for any valuables. Digital aerial access points which support Freeview TVs are also available in every room. Call bell assistance is also available by every bed.
Cinema Room
With an extensive library of period dramas and films, residents are able to enjoy watching what they want when they want within the home’s very own cinema room. Regular movie nights (popcorn included) also provide residents with the opportunity to watch their favourite movies from the past.
Hairdressing Salon
A set, cut, blow dry or something more adventurous can all be provided to residents in our relaxing and tranquil hairdressing salon. Decorated in soothing colours and equipped with all salon facilities, residents can enjoy being pampered by our visiting hairdresser on a weekly basis.
Patio & Dementia Garden
A safe and secure outside garden area directly accessed from the ground floor lounge has been designed specifically with the needs of elderly individuals in mind. Raised flower beds, water features, paved walk ways with soothing lighting and a relaxing patio area which attracts local wildlife provide a tranquil environment for all residents to enjoy.
Bathrooms
Fully equipped, spacious and modern bathrooms offering either assisted bath or shower facilities with call bell assistance are provided on each floor.
The Glen Arms Pub
The Glen Arms is always open for residents to enjoy a few drinks with families and friends or why not enjoy a game of darts or join in the regular gentlemen’s club or quizzes hosted by our activities team.
The Glen Tea Rooms
Come in and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea and piece of cake in our very own Tea Room, where you can enjoy a bit of piece and quite or maybe a birthday party or family gathering. The choice is yours.
Relaxation Room
Come in and relax in our Relaxation Room set back in the 1960’s including old fashioned furniture, TV and radio. Relax in front of our Fire TV’s
